Welcome Halffast Friends!
Who are we?
Halffast is an ALL VOLUNTEER human service organization dedicated to promoting healthy people and healthy communities.
Halffast Pledge: As a halffast athlete I pledge to make my life, and my community, better everyday. I will honor myself and embrace the help I need so I can be the help others need. I will treat other halffast athletes with respect and encourage them in their work. I will accept praise from others and challenge my own limiting thoughts. I will be a support when I am strong, and I will recieve support when I am weak. I pledge to support my community through halffast events, and other programs supporting community activism. I will leave my community, and world, better than I found it.
What Do We Do?
Well, in short, we take the awkwardness out of promoting social change, helping our neighbors, and being active and healthy, by organizing fun Halffast Challenges (physical activities, social programs, community activism, ect) for people of all skill and health levels. We also advocate for people in our community and seek to support people in their areas of need by raising funds for local charities (the funds stay in the community they were raised in)through our events. We understand that physical, mental, social, and spiritual wellbeing is necessary for all people. While it is true that the Halffast movement was born out of physical health concerns halffast athletes understand that the whole person must be considered for true health to exist. Of course we also want to have fun and spread joy in our communities. Won't you join us?
How can I be a part of Halffast?
Well, for starters, you can register and attend a Halffast Challenge; that is it. (take the pledge seriously though)
If you really want to get busy, just follow the steps below to host your own Halffast Challenge.
1. Request to become a Halffast Athlete. (done through the e-mail contact form above)
2. Request a Halffast Challenge Packet. (easy and available through e-mail)
3. Describe the Halffast Challenge and Your Local Charity. (you know, time, place, type, costs, ect. Plus the Charity info)
4. We'll collaborate with you about how we can help. (remember the whole "people helping people idea" well we're pretty serious about that)
5. Recruit other Halffast members to participate in your event. (everyone who participates becomes a Halffast Athlete and must be registered with us)
You can do a lot more in the organization, but the steps listed above are the basics.
